Local color: It is a term used for referring the actual color of the object, and not the color which is viewed after the effects of other colors. When the color
is seen in the entire painting, you can visualize a different shade in the actual color as there are effects of other shades, so the original color without the
effect of any shade is referred to as local color.
Chiaroscuro: This mode uses bold and contrast colors accompanied by many highlights. It is useful for painting dark scenes. It is also used to represent
the effects in portray.
Double Ground: This method refers to a system wherein one layer of painting is superimposed by another layer of separate color.
Fat-Over-Lean: This is one of the rules used in painting colors. This rule states that each layer must include more content of oil than the preceding layer.
This minimizes the risk of cracking.
Gesso: This is one of the binders or thinners used in painting which allows the paints to slide down easily.
Ground: This is the surface layer on which the color is applied. Highlight: It is the lightest shade in the painting.
